It’s hard to believe, but we recently celebrated a very important milestone in our company: our Ten Year Anniversary. We have been in business for a decade and have seen so much change and growth over the years. We’ve had a great time and we hope you have, too.
Madden Elevator Company was started in founder Sean Madden’s basement in October 2010. He and his wife had no money, no job, no truck, and no customers. They did, however, have a big dream to build a first-class elevator service company.
Sean began the company after serving for nearly three decades in the elevator industry. His experience began with the legacy of his father working on the World Trade Center in New York City. He learned the trade early on as a teenager, accompanying his father on elevator service calls. Then he decided that it was his turn.
Ever since the beginning, Sean wanted to focus on treating our customers like family and exceeding your elevator expectations. These are tenets we still adhere to today. We build relationships with each and every person we come into contact with and do precise work that gives you the results your business needs.
We care about each of our customers and want all of them to be 100% satisfied. We believe in what we do so much that we are the only contract-free elevator company, with agreements you can get out of in 30 days.
The past decade has seen a lot of growth for Madden Elevator, and hardships, too. In 2012, our second year in business, we saw a whopping 299% growth. We were off to a great start. Plus, we grew another 91% in 2013, nearly doubling our business again. After that, growth was slower but steady. In 2019, however, we experienced some setbacks, which is why we strategically got rid of low bid, low margin jobs.
Then came 2020. Last year was rough on everyone, so we treated it more as a reset year. We still did our jobs and were able to bring in revenue, but our day-to-day work lives changed drastically. In May 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, we switched to a remote workforce. All of our employees were on board and were dedicated to making it work for us.
At Madden, we embrace technology both in the office and in the field. We implemented an Entrepreneurial Operating System (E.O.S.) to help us run our business and we’re always keeping up with the latest trends in elevator safety. One of the things we’re most proud to offer lately are upgrades that keep your passengers safe from COVID-19.
We expect 2021 and 2022 to be good years for us as we work back toward our upward swing of growth. That’s not something Sean can accomplish alone, though. Madden Elevator has an incredible team of leaders, all of whom share a commitment to customer service and elevator safety. We would not be where we are today without the great people that support our mission.
Relationships. Precision. Results.
That’s what we stand for, and strive for, every day at Madden Elevator. The proof is in the work we do.
What a ride it has been. A huge thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey. Your support means more to us than we can say. We can’t wait to see another ten years with all of you standing by our side as we push toward continued growth in the future.
